Churches Together in Gloucestershire are sponsors to these meetings which began in the late 1990s.  At first they were organised by the Revd Kingsley Jones of St Aldates in Gloucester. In October 2010 the posts of Diocesan Environmental Adviser (DEA) and Rural Affairs Adviser were merged and undertaken by the Revd Dr Simon Topping from the Methodist Church.  In addition to organising regular lunchtime meetings in various places, Simon developed the Diocesan website and a Facebook Group. The post was vacant from July 2013 to December 2013 due to restructuring in Gloucester Diocese. In January 2014, the Revd Arthur Champion was appointed as DEA - working on a voluntary basis. Arthur brought the meetings to the Jerusalem Room alongside of Gloucester Cathedral and built this website. More recently, with meetings have been held elsewhere including Stroud, Elkstone, Bishop's Cleeve and Cheltenham.
