GCEJN: Christian mission through caring for creation
15th February 2019
12:15- 13:30

Soon after our last meeting I was delighted to learn that the Bishop of Tewkesbury (Rt Revd Robert Springett) had spent the afternoon helping Pauline Farman to pick up litter alongside some Cotswold roads and country lanes near Cirencester - what a great role model. This gave me the idea of asking Bishop Robert whether he would be able to speak at one of our meetings. Sure enough he’s kindly agreed to participate in our next meeting!

Speaker: The Bishop of Tewkesbury

Subject: “Christian mission through caring for creation” (the Five Marks of Mission and how they all relate to one another

Date: Friday 15th February 2019

Time: 12.15 - 1.30pm

Location: The Jerusalem Room, Department of Mission and Ministry, No 4 College Green, Gloucester, GL1 2LR

Getting there: Gloucester has good options for using public transport. Cycle hoops have recently been installed in the newly created public green space in front of the cathedral. There are several car parks within a five-minute walk. Please bring your own sandwiches and there are facilities for making tea/coffee.

EcoChurch Award: There will be some time at the end for anyone working towards an EcoChurch Award (A Rocha) for sharing ideas and mutual support. Congratulations to the parish church of St Lawrence at Lechlade that’s recently received a Bronze Award!

Meetings are free of charge thanks to support by the Diocese of Gloucester. Please bring a friend along if you like. It would be good to know in advance but not essential.

best wishes
